The Blind Authority Manipulation Corporation was conceived in Brisbane in 1987 by Dr. Rosetta Jean-Smythe after doubts began to settle in her mind concerning her economics doctorate;

"It was just a quote by Einstein that I happened to stumble upon that nibbled away at me and began to give me grave doubts about the work I was doing. Einstein had said, 'So far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain. And so far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.' Now economics is math and further more it is math that at the end of the day does not refer to reality. I had been so absorbed in the abstract theory that I failed to recognize that what I was producing bared no relation to everyday life. It certainly has no relationship to ecology and everything that keeps us alive except that it is secretly killing it."

Of course it wasn't just this quote that alerted Rosetta. Always inside of her she carried heart of gold. She was simply ignorant about the state of global affairs. There was already some doubt in her mind before she chanced upon this quote. The quote merely solidified her doubt. In the back of her mind she desired to investigate the field of social justice. A book by Susan George was enough to begin her journey on a new path.

"At first this new reality shocked me. It was like I had been living in a virtual world. A world where we are fed on lies and told it is the truth. Soon I began to read Vandana Shiva and from there I entered the world of eco-feminism with authors such as Caroline Merchant. At last the veil of illusion was beginning to disintegrate."

This was not enough for Rosetta as she realised she had to break completely from her specialisations and research in broader, more generalised fields of knowledge. Her investigations soon came back to western masculine physics. She became fascinated with Robert J. Oppenheimer. Here was a man who was completely loyal to his Government. It wasn't until after the bomb was dropped that the doubt and indeed the emotional distress set in. He had blood on his hands. He collaborated in the murder of thousands of innocent people. And the death tally and suffering continues to this day.

"I started toying with a concept I have called the Oppenheimer principle. It's a bit of a wanky name I know. Generally it's about different levels of denial and how we accept authority. It's also about how we judge what is worthwhile and what is not. Oppenheimer later realised that; 'Secrecy strikes at the very root of science and what it is for.' The same could be said for economics. At the surface level economics seems to be about just that; economics. However underneath it is about power and the manipulation of values. It is about taking material conditions away from others whilst at the same time pretending to have some humanitarian values. The reality is that we are told half-truths like Oppenheimer. We tend to live on these until it is too late"

We all accept some authority of some sort. How can we know the value of that authority in any real sense? Who do you trust and how can you know truth? Can you trust your own knowledge and where did your own knowledge originate from?

The Blind Authority Manipulation Corporation was not set up to answer these questions. For in attempting to answer such questions you end up with a double layer of lies. A lie within a lie. A false reality buried inside another false reality, buried inside another false reality. The Blind Authority Manipulation Corporation was designed more to keep its employees on their toes. In the end you have to work it out for yourself and what's more you have to work out if you actually have worked it out for yourself. That is the hardest part and it is always best to assume the answer is 'no'.

Rosetta set up the corporation in collaboration with a bunch of bohemian artists (arseholes more like it) and occult practitioners. She wanted to set about breaking boundaries and challenge the way we construct and accept everyday reality.

The corporation is built upon many symbologies. You might assume that it is satire for how the world is run; that is - blindly. However this is a poor joke on blind people. To think of sightless people as lacking in anything is surely a mistake. In many cultures people who have lost their eye sight are held as visionaries of inner wisdom.

The symbology of Oppenheimer's eyes has an appearance similar to the eye in the pyramid, the Masonic symbol as seen on US notes. The eye in this symbol represents the third eye, the eye of inner wisdom. However, in the case of the United States, in reality a world of simulation, the symbol is better compared to that of big brother. Big brother in the form of private corporations always watching you, making sure your behaviour fits within their codes of 'normality'.
